Welcome to the Database of Online Canadiana (DOC)
DOC is a project initiated by the Gesellschaft für Kanada-Studien e.V. (Association for Canadian Studies in German-Speaking Countries) to develop an interdisciplinary database providing access to selected online resources on Canada for students, teachers in secondary education, and university teachers alike.
The database is structured into four main modules which are preceded by an introductory section providing general information about Canada.
All links collected in the database are catalogued according to an abridged and modified version of the History Guide Data Model of Göttingen State and University Library (http://www.historyguide.de/) based on recommendations of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (http://dublincore.org/).
As regards languages, DOC in its initial phase will use English for the social sciences and anglophone literatures and French for francophone literatures.
DOC currently contains 1,228 web sites. If you happen to miss a web site in DOC, please send an email to let us know.
